Janet Cottle Johnson, 69, a lifelong resident of West Tisbury died following a brief illness at Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington, Mass. She is the beloved wife of Glenn E. Johnson with whom she shared 42 wonderful years of marriage.
Janet was born August 31, 1955 in Oak Bluffs, to her parents Edmund C. Cottle and Elizabeth M. (Gale) Cottle. Following high school, she went on to work for the family business E.C. Cottle, Inc., a full-service, family-owned and operated lumberyard serving homeowners and building professionals on Martha’s Vineyard. Janet held the titles of treasurer, secretary, and part owner during her career with the company.
Janet loved to travel, Sarasota Spring, N.Y., Vermont, and Quebec closer to home, and travelled overseas to Europe with her daughter. She was a kind woman, and radiated love for her family, especially her grandchildren. Janet will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Janet is survived by her husband, Glenn E. Johnson; her sons Keith E. Johnson, and Jonathan Johnson; her daughter Elizabeth SooHoo; and six beloved grandchildren.
