Camilla (Cammy) Rogers, 62, of Oak Bluffs died on December 30, 2024, at her home as a result of internal injuries from an automobile accident. She was 62.

Cammy was born on July 7, 1962, to Sylvia Coutinho Rogers and the late James Everett Rogers.

She graduated from the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School and was a lifelong resident of Oak Bluffs, well known to the community at large for her mischievous personality. She was lovingly devoted to her parents, siblings, grandparents and other relatives. She was a loyal friend to many, sharing laughs and hugs.

After her death, many who knew her over the years shared their memories of her sweet kindness.

She was sought after by fisherman for her scallop shucking skill, and she took joy in gifting fresh bay scallops to others. Earlier in her life, she wrote lyrics and music to play and sing accompanied by her guitar, making a CD to share with family and friends. She also wrote poetry to process her heartfelt thoughts and feelings. Friends were happy to receive copies of her poetry at her funeral service.

She is survived by her mother Sylvia Coutinho Rogers of Oak Bluffs who she was devoted to, her sister Rebecca Rogers (partner Roland Rondeau) of Mashpee, her nephews C J Barstow and Michael Willoughby, great-nephews Nathan and Andrew Finnegan-Allen, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sadly Cammy was predeceased last year by her beloved brother Leigh Rogers. She was also predeceased by her father James Everett Rogers who she greatly missed, her paternal grandparents Everett and Genevieve Rogers, her maternal grandparents John and Alice Coutinho, and her loving aunt Mary Ellen Rogers. May Cammy rest in peace with her loved ones that have gone before her.

Cammy’s funeral service, officiated by Rev Paul Fedak, was held at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, Oak Bluffs, on Saturday Jan, 11, followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oak Bluffs.
