The first ever Marthas Vineyard marathon and half marathon brought hundreds of runners that completed a course that ran through the state forest and and through Edgartown before ending at Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs. The marathon, a Boston qualifier, had 323 finishers, and 992 people finished the marathon. The event was hosted by the SD Run Club Foundation and proceeds from the event benefitted Martha's Vineyard Regional High School and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands.
