Treehouse Studios in West Tisbury has re-opened in its new location on State Road opposite up-Island Cronig’s and will continue to feature fine art and selected antiques, as well as an assortment of art-related books.

Four Artists in Carol Craven Exhibit Opening Sunday

The Carol Craven Gallery presents an exhibition of recent watercolors by Vineyard artist Gretchen Feldman. This is Mrs. Feldman’s fifth show with the gallery, and her vibrant watercolors continue to grow in their complexity. There also will be a poster of one of her paintings for sale with all proceeds going to benefit Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York city.

North Water Gallery (formerly Gardner Colby Gallery) in Edgartown invites everyone to an artist’s reception for Suzanne Crocker on Thursday, June 26, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Inspired primarily with barns and seaside cottages, Ms. Crocker explores color, shape and mood through her bold and dynamic paintings. Skip Petersen Will Show Paintings at Featherstone

Skip Petersen, a graduate of the Pratt Institute of Fine Arts, presents a gallery show of her work, which she defines as “abstract oil in very bright colors” — hence the title of the show, Brilliance.

The exhibition opens tomorrow, Saturday, August 2, at the Pebble Building of Featherstone Center for the Arts, with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. The show will hang through August 13.

While students register for art classes, the gallery is refurbished. This year a new track has been installed around the perimeter of the gallery to better display works of art. And the gallery floor has been sanded down to bare wood and sealed for a gleaming new surface.

Art, Music Will Celebrate a Girl Who Went to Sea

The original art and music from a book about the true adventures of a little Vineyard girl who lived aboard her father’s whaling ship will be featured at a West Tisbury gallery opening in July.

Susan Convery Foltz, whose watercolors brought to life the story of Laura Jernegan in Thirty Dirty Sailors and the Little Girl Who Went a-Whaling, will host the opening Saturday, July 5, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., at M.M. Stone Gallery at 671 North Tisbury Road.
