Brazilian trio Choro das 3’s first Island concert since 2019 filled every seat at the West Tisbury Library Saturday and had more people listening from the doorway.
Singer-songwriter Graham Nash played to a sold-out crowd at the Old Whaling Church Wednesday night, taking the audience on a time-traveling musical adventure.
Beach Road Weekend is returning this summer as a series of three individually-ticketed concerts to be held in Veterans Memorial Park on July 23, July 24 and July 25.
More than 30 singers from across the Island will fill the Old Whaling Church with sounds of Handel’s Messiah, Part I on Saturday, Dec. 22, beginning at 8 p.m.
The Boston Pops concert at Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs was a highlight of summer last year, and with an attendance figure of 5,000 people it ranked among the most attended Island event of the season.
Building on last year’s success, promoters this year want to expand the concert to include food and alcohol sales and also have a longer running time from early afternoon to late evening. They also want to put up high barricades along Seaview avenue to control crowds and to block people from watching the concert for free along the road and town beach.
