When Leslie's closed last month, health officials were scrambling to make sure Islanders would still be able to get their medications. Pharmacies and providers say they are resettling patients.

I was very saddened to hear that Leslie’s Drug Store will be closing. Leslie’s has been my pharmacy since I first arrived on the Vineyard in the summer of 1971. 

The family-run pharmacy and corner store announced Saturday that it has stopped placing any new orders in anticipation of closing on Sept. 28.

Leslie’s Drug Store, the family-run pharmacy in downtown Vineyard Haven that was due to close at the end of the year, will be able to stay open after all, the owners confirmed.

Leslie’s Drug Store, a family-run pharmacy and Main street institution in Vineyard Haven since 1948, will permanently close at the end of this year, after 72 years in business.
