Fresh from their Austrian tour last month, the Minnesingers take over the stage at the Martha’s Vineyard Performing Arts Center this weekend for two concerts.
The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School Minnesingers are taking more than a few extra steps to reward audiences at their spring concerts on May 12 and May 13.
After touring the world as a singer, dancer and producer for stage musicals and cruise ship shows, Ken Romero has come full circle, putting his skills and experience to work at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School.
Singers Emmett Favreau and Jack Crawford have shared the stage since grammar school. Recently, they both performed with the all-state chorus at Symphony Hall.
An Edgartown police car led the way. A young boy in a Santa hat rode in the passenger seat, yelling out a hearty “Merry Christmas!” to the crowd over the cruiser’s PA system. Children and parents alike echoed the refrain.
The Minnesingers packed more than a year of pent-up musical longing — by both the singers and their fans — into two hour-long shows that brimmed with optimism and joy at the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs.
The regional high school Minnesingers return to the stage with two live, in-person performances this weekend at the Tabernacle. Tickets for the spring show will be limited due to health restrictions.
