Student enrollment is slightly down this year in Martha’s Vineyard public schools, according to the annual Oct. 1 school census.

Student enrollment in Vineyard public schools remains relatively flat with last year, the annual school census shows.

The school census is done in the five elementary schools and regional high school each year on Oct. 1.

Total enrollment is 2,027, eight more than last year, although numbers are up and down at various schools.
