The select board began to review taxi regulations after Jacqueline McGillicuddy, the owner of MV Harbor Taxi, asked the board to support local taxi services against out-of-town companies that operate in Oak Bluffs.
The Tisbury select board voted unanimously this week to limit the number of taxi companies licensed in the town to seven, each with up to eight cabs on the road.
