The airline notified Martha’s Vineyard Airport last week that the flights to and from Westchester County, which ran about once a day in the summer, would be discontinued in 2024, said Geoff Freeman, the airport director.
Starting this summer, JetBlue Airways will begin running seasonal nonstop flights between the Vineyard and Boston. JetBlue announced Tuesday that service will begin June 17, with daily flights through Sept. 7.
I’d like to express my gratitude to the airport staff, and particularly to the JetBlue counter agent on duty Wednesday afternoon. Due to a significant detour via Edgartown through parade-day traffic, my father and I arrived at the airport with just minutes to spare before the scheduled take off. The JetBlue counter was already closed. However, the staff, recognizing the reasons for my late arrival, kindly helped me make my flight. It was then that we learned of the terrible car crash and my thoughts turned to the people involved.
After some three years of courtship, Cape Air and JetBlue Airways
chose Valentine's Day to announce a marriage of customer
convenience for passengers to and from Logan International Airport.
Beginning next month, passengers arriving from or departing to 20
destinations across America with JetBlue will be able to connect far
more easily with Cape Air flights to the Cape and Islands.
JetBlue Airways, the low-cost airline with a reputation for quality customer service, announced on Thursday morning that it will begin daily nonstop service between Martha’s Vineyard and New York city this summer.
“During the peak days we’ll operate more than one trip a day,” said JetBlue chief executive officer Dave Barger after a press conference held at the Martha’s Vineyard Airport.
