A federal lawsuit that alleged Vineyard Vines discriminated against an executive based on her age, gender and disability has been dismissed at the request of both parties.
A South Florida woman claiming to be a psychic pleaded guilty to tax evasion in federal court in Boston this week in a case involving an elderly Martha’s Vineyard woman who was reportedly bilked out of millions.
U.S. District Court Judge Douglas P. Woodlock heard the case of
Aquinnah building inspector versus the Wampanoag Tribal Council of Gay
Head Wednesday and questioned whether the federal court has jurisdiction
over the civil action. The outcome of the case will determine whether
the town has zoning jurisdiction on tribal lands.
