A story in the Oct. 17 edition of the Gazette about short-term borrowing for the West Tisbury town hall renovation project contained an inaccuracy. An attempt by town officials to sell short-term bond anticipation notes was postponed, but did not fail. The Gazette regrets the error.

A story in Friday’s paper about live music on the Vineyard misspelled the name of Outerland talent advance manager Whitney Dailey. The Gazette regrets the error.

A birth announcement in the Friday Gazette contained the incorrect weight for Wenonah Madison-Sauer. Wenonah weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces at birth. The Gazette regrets the error.

Correction

A story in Tuesday’s Gazette about Martha’s Vineyard Community Services reported incorrectly on a planned crisis stabilization unit for Islanders with substance abuse or mental health problems. Community Services is planning the unit with the help of the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, but the unit will not be located at the hospital. The Gazette regrets the error.

The headline on an obituary published in the Friday Gazette for Marcia Mann Baker was inaccurate. It was Marcia’s husband, Bob, who came to the Vineyard during the war. The Gazette regrets the error.

A story in the August 12 Tuesday Gazette about the 12-metre regatta was unclear about next year’s racing schedule. Next year’s 15th annual Edgartown Yacht Club 12-metre regatta will be held in Edgartown on the weekend of August 7, 8 and 9. The Worlds 12-metre sailboat races will take place next year in Newport in September.

Corrections

In a story about the publication of a collection of Civil War diaries kept by Charles Macreading Vincent, published in the Gazette of July 22, the name of a 19th century column in the Boston Globe was misidentified. The name was Table Gossip.

Due to incorrect information in a press release, an item in the Tuesday the Gazette incorrectly identified the hometown of Emily Hartford, who won a theatre award. She is a native of Middleborough.
