Correction

A story in Friday’s Gazette about Family Planning services reported inaccurately on the length of clinic staff work furloughs; the furloughs are for 14 hours, not 14 days.

A story in Friday’s Gazette about the Edgartown selectmen’s action on an application from a summer tour operator contained errors. Ron Minkin’s application is for a 14-passenger van, and it was the third meeting Mr. Minkin had with the selectmen.

A story last Friday’s Gazette about the centennial of the grounding of the schooner Mertie B. Crowley misspelled Levi Jackson’s first name.

An interview in last Friday’s Gazette with the Rev. Vincent G. (Chip) Seadale, the new rector at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, reported incorrectly on where his wife Colleen works. She is a bereavement counselor and therapist for Hospice of Martha’s Vineyard.

Clarification

A story in last week’s Gazette about Bridge Housing made reference to two letters written by the Island Affordable Housing Fund to Bridge Housing Corp. A September 2008 letter which was discussed by the housing fund board but never signed, contained contingency language for “the commitment of all other financing.” A March 2008 letter that was signed by former housing fund executive director Patrick Manning did not contain the language.

Correction

Due to an error in transmitting, the Gazette last week published a report on a Steamship Authority monthly meeting from the previous year.

Corrections

An interview in Friday’s Gazette with Rabbi Caryn Broitman reported incorrectly on the denomination of the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center. It is reform, while Rabbi Broitman is reconstructionist.

Schooner, the new book about the building of Rebecca, celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Gannon and Benjamin Marine Railway, not the 13th.
