2021

Facing a growing demand for services and nearly $500,000 in school spending requests, West Tisbury selectmen will ask voters for a Proposition 2 1/2 general override to ease pressure on the town budget this year.

Selectmen gave their initial assent to add a narrow solar canopy with vehicle charging stations to the library parking lot.

Voters will be asked at town meeting to designate a three-acre town property for affordable housing, following a unanimous vote by selectmen Wednesday afternoon. The lot is at 401 State Road.

The owners of the Lambert’s Cove Inn told the West Tisbury selectmen this week that it’s unclear the virus was transmitted while the October wedding party was at the inn.

A dilapidated house in West Tisbury is now collapsing and poses a danger to the public and potentially to the environment as well, building inspector Joseph K. Tierney, Jr., told selectmen Wednesday.
