With Easter on Sunday, all the lilies are out, as are the hyacinths, daffodils and pansies. The smell of the melody of aromas is such a reminder of Easters past. Then there are the chocolate bunnies, colored eggs and the Peeps. Somehow the baskets were not complete without them.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Christopher Cartier who celebrated on March 16, Austin Chandler, and Lillian Kurelja who celebrated on March 17, and to Amy Fligor and Sarah Taylor who celebrated their day on March 18.

St. Patrick’s Day was busy for most. The O’Shaughnessys had their annual party and Yanna’s cooking is always the best.

The Wharf had a corned beef and cabbage meal and lots of people. The Lee Welch family had a table for 12 as did the Dolby family. It was a great night and they had great music.

Norman and Margaret Rankow are home from St. John. For Easter Sunday, they will be welcoming home their daughter and son in law Angela and Ryan Welch and of course their son and the Rankows’ grandson Liam.

The weather was great for Palm Sunday. There were lots of cars out and some happy children as they saw the Easter bunny and got lots of treats.

Please don’t forget the benefit for Heather Jardin on Saturday, March 22 at the Portuguese-American Club in Oak Bluffs from 8 p.m. to midnight. There will be two bands. They have lots of raffles and lots of good things so try to make it. It is a good cause and it is for a young adult that needs our help.

I hope you have a great Easter and a good gathering with your families.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
