Inauguration Day

A man

Stood in the sunlight

And spoke

And the crowd listened

and heard him.

He spoke of hope

and of hard things and

he spoke of darkness

and as he spoke the

multitude heard him.

The man stood in

the sunlight and spoke

of darkness and

those who had lived

through the darkness

heard him and nodded

and their tears flowed

over him like justice

as he spoke in

the sunlight and spoke of hope.

And as he spoke

justice flowed over

him like tears

The man stood alone

and spoke of darkness

and the darkness

was ashamed and crept away.

A man stood alone

in the light and spoke.

A man stood alone.

He stood in the light.
