On April 4, laugh with WIMP and get the IMPers to the Chicago Improv Festival. The IMPers, Martha’s Vineyard’s teen professional improv troupe, scored an invitation to perform at the international Chicago Improv Festival alongside headliners from major motion pictures and television shows like Mad TV and Saturday Night Live. In the history of the festival this honor has only been extended to a handful of teen troupes. This is the second group of young improvisors from the Vineyard to receive this honor.
To raise funds for the trip, their big brothers and sisters from WIMP will join them on and off stage for a unique fundraiser and performance. Don’t miss this one night only event when WIMP originals Jamie Alley, Christopher Brophy and Laura Silber join the recently honored IMPers in a comedy improv extravaganza. The evening starts at Che’s Lounge at 6 p.m. for a special dessert and coffee reception. This ticket admits you to a celebration with the cast and participation in a unique improv auction. At 7:30 p.m. take a short walk up the street to the Katharine Cornell Theatre where the cast will perform their comedy improv show based on audience suggestions. Tickets are $25 for the Che’s Lounge reception, show and premier seating. The performance only tickets are $15. Special discounted tickets are available from the cast at various locations the week prior to the show. Call 508-939-9368 for details or check out the website at www.troubledshores.com.
