Once again the Field Gallery in West Tisbury features artists of Barbara Wylan and Ron Gee.

Barbara Wylan was born in Providence, R.I. in 1933, and received her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 1955. Her home and studio are located on Cape Cod’s north side in Barnstable village. Primarily a landscape painter, Barbara works in pastel, acrylics, and watercolor. Her brother is popular Vineyard conservationist Bob Woodruff.

Ron Gee’s work can be seen as a continuous investigation of and meditation upon specific themes. A versatile and eclectic painter, he works freely in many styles, approaches and moods, ranging from lyrical naturalism to calligraphic abstraction.

His thematic material is also diverse, including studies of the human figure, skies, landscape spaces, fruit, and, most recently, portraits of jazz musicians, artists and astrophysicists.

The artists’ reception is Sunday, August 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.
