A free panel discussion about the Middle East on Sunday features four powerhouse speakers.

Leading the panel is Israeli expat Shula Gilad, a fellow at Harvard University’s Negotiation Project. With degrees from Tel Aviv University, Brandeis, Berkeley and UMass, she specializes in conict resolution negotiation. She is working closely with the two Palestinians who will be on the panel with her.

Dubai-born, London-educated Nizar Farsakh did research on Israeli settlement activities and later worked as an adviser to Palestinian negotiators on border issues. Wassim Khazmo was communications advisor to the PLO’s negoatiations support unit.

They will be joined by Ilai Saltzman, an international relations specialist at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

Titled Don’t Fight, Negotiate: Israelis and Palestinians Finding a Way to Win, the event takes place this Sunday, Nov. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center in Vineyard Haven. A reception will follow. For details, call 508-693-0745.
