Three Tastes of Italy
Slow Food Martha’s Vineyard and Jan Buhrman will present a series of three Italian culinary experiences, Italy at Your Table, during the first weekend in March.
The series begins with an Italian wine tasting with Filippo Bartolotta of Le Baccanti on Friday, March 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mediterranean restaurant in Oak Bluffs. Mr. Bartolotta will share his stories and knowledge of small, traditional, organic wineries, and specially selected rare wines will be paired with Italian-inspired appetizers. The cost is $110, with 25 per cent of profits from the series going to support Slow Food.
On Saturday, an Italian Experience Dinner will be served at Saltwater restaurant at the Tisbury Marketplace in Vineyard Haven from 6 to 10 p.m., with Italian cooking demonstrations and a five-course Italian dinner prepared by chefs Alex Nagi, Robert Lionette and Jan Buhrman. Mr. Bartolotta will also be pairing each course with rare Italian wines. The cost for this evening is also $110.
The last dinner in the series will be on Sunday, March 7, from 6 to 9:30 p.m., this time at Park Corner Bistro in Oak Bluffs. An Italian-inspired four course dinner will be presented by Jesse Martin, with Mr. Bartolotta again pairing each course. The cost for Sunday’s dinner is $100.
