Genealogy Workshop
Reconnecting with your best friend from kindergarten on Facebook is fun. Reconnecting with your great-great-great-great grandmother on ancestry.com? Thrilling.
On Tuesday, March 16, at 5:30 p.m. the Vineyard Haven library is offering a free introductory workshop on ancestry.com, a genealogy Web site that searches historical records within the largest online genealogical database collection in the world. Bring any information — names, dates, locations — of ancestors you want to trace, and a laptop if you have one, and search ancestry.com’s vast catalog of family history records, digitized books, newspapers, census records, voter registrations and immigration records with help from reference librarian Cecily Greenaway.
