Last Friday, children at the Martha’s Vineyard Boys’ and Girls’ Club received copies of the Funhunters Scavenger Hunt. “Oh, we know all about the Vineyard,” they said, beginning an animated and interesting discussion about where they might find specific items such as a “mermaid’s purse,” a plane on a grassy airstrip, and a church that has no walls. These Vineyard youngsters then launched the Funhunters Scavenger Hunt on their next scheduled outing.
Former Oak Bluffs and Chilmark principal Gerry Moriarty developed the Funhunters Scavenger Hunt. During her tenure as a principal, Mrs. Moriarty’s four sons spent many happy hours at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club. She wanted to express her thanks to the club by donating 100 copies of the new Scavenger Hunt to the children of the club.
The Hunt also is available at Bunch of Grapes, Riley’s Reads, the Toy Box and Educomp in Vineyard Haven and at Jim’s and the Corner Store in Oak Bluffs.
