All Islanders are invited to the Yale Day in the Sun at the Harbor View Hotel and Resort on August 21. Organizers promise an afternoon of intellectual stimulation, reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones.

At 1 p.m. Yale’s Jonathan Holloway, professor of history, African American Studies and American Studies, will present a lecture titled, The Right Kind of People: The Silences in a Civil Rights Narrative.

At 2 p.m. Omer Bajwa, coordinator of Muslim life at Yale, will present the lecture, Muslim Life at Yale and Beyond: Engaging the Sacred and the Secular.

Cocktails will follow from 3 to 5 p.m. at the hotel on North Water street in Edgartown.
