Never Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen
The Martha’s Vineyard High School culinary arts program is a great training ground for future chefs — hopefully future Island chefs. It’s a hands-on learning experience of all facets of the restaurant business: The students not only prepare and cook the food, they learn how to present and serve it too.
Next week the art of creative cooperation will be added to their culinary syllabus. The students are teaming up with Island Grown Initiative and chef Dan Sauer of 7a Farm to create and host a local dinner. But don’t worry about that old adage about too many cooks in the kitchen. In this case, more cooks will lead to more tasting pleasures.
The dinner takes place Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. at the high school. Tickets are $25 and available at Cronig’s and SBS. Proceeds benefit the Petricone Scholarship for MVRHS culinary arts students.
