Vineyard Voices is a book of oral histories compiled by Linsey Lee. Each story is, at first glance, a snapshot of a person’s life, just a page long. However, the effect one takes away from reading each entry is so much fuller, as if an entire life has been captured and immortalized.

To do this in just a few paragraphs takes a lot of skill and craftsmanship.

On Sunday, March 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ms. Lee will be sharing her methods in the first of a two-day workshop. The second part of the workshop will take place on April 9 at a time to be determined by workshop participants.

Ms. Lee will illustrate the various methods for conducting oral history interviews allowing for participants to learn more about their own family and community. She will also work with participants on interview techniques, care of collections and creative uses of oral history. The museum’s interview collection of over 400 Vineyarders will be reviewed and utilized.

The workshop is limited to 10 participants. Preregistration is necessary. Call 508-627-4441, extension 110 to register. The cost for the two-day session is $15 for museum members and $20 for nonmembers.
