We the young people of Martha’s Vineyard can help promote healthier living, especially among young Americans, by teaching parents to buy healthier food, getting kids motivated, and helping kids to exercise. By using all of these techniques we could really help a lot of kids lose weight and eat healthier.

The first way to try and help is by encouraging parents to buy healthier food. If parents bought healthier foods like fruits and vegetables then the kids have no other choice but to eat it. Soon the kids will get so used to it they won’t want junk food anymore. Providing healthy food for kids will help them stay healthy and give them good habits. It can also help with weight loss because it cuts them off from the normal junk food and calories they normally eat.

The second way to try and help is by getting kids to get motivated. Without any motivation kids would never do anything. Technology has taken over and doesn’t help motivate kids one bit. All it does is get kids addicted to laziness with the video games, cell phones, computers, and televisions. By helping kids to get motivated they will forget about all that stuff and want to go exercise or eat something healthy.

The final way to try and help is by getting kids to exercise. Without exercising your body, you will become out of shape, overweight and unhealthy. Once you start exercising you feel really great just like when you eat healthy because you really start thinking about your body more. Adults can help this by having their kids go to after school programs or by cutting out their amount of technology time. Getting kids to exercise also gets adults thinking about it too. This is a good thing because we want adults to set good examples and have them be healthy too.

In the end we need to help kids with all of those things because if we don’t the rate of obesity is going to skyrocket and we don’t want that to happen. Once we get these things going and in action I bet we’ll have more success and less obese people in this world than we do today.
