Hebrew Center Conversation

Jewish women living in the U.S., committed to social justice and a strong Israel, will share their experiences when mother and daughter Shulamit Reinharz and Naomi Reinharz speak at the Hebrew Center on August 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Presented by the Jewish Federation of Cape Cod, the talk is a fundraiser.

Prof. Dr. Shulamit Reinharz created the world’s first graduate program in Jewish Women’s Studies, at Brandeis University. She chaired Hadassah’s National Commission on American Jewish Women in 1993 and subsequently established the Hadassah-Brandeis Institute, which she heads to this day. In 2001, she opened the Women’s Studies Research Center at Brandeis. She has published 11 books, including American Jewish Women and the Zionist Enterprise.

Her daughter, Naomi, is chief of staff of Jewish Agency International Development in New York. Naomi, who led two pro-Israel groups while at Brown University, later earned her law degree at the Georgetown University Law Center. She also worked for the American Jewish Committee developing the Latino and Latin American Institute.
