The Civil War lecture series at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum continues next Thursday, Sept. 8, when James B. Richardson 3rd gives a lecture entitled Confederated Raiders by Land and Sea.

Mr. Richardson is curator emeritus from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and professor emeritus from the University of Pittsburgh.

The program begins at 5:30 p.m. at the museum library located at 59 School street in Edgartown. Admission is $8 for members and $12 for nonmembers.

There will be a reception to follow in the Civil War exhibit space in the Pease House Galleries.
