My record for daffodils surfacing has been broken. I looked in the garden this past weekend and found that one has a bud on it. I have not been the only one with flowers getting ready to bloom this winter. I only hope there are some left for the spring. It will be interesting to see what Mother Nature brings us.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Paige Fiske, who celebrated Feb. 4; Kazara Aldeborgh and Aiden Rogers, who celebrated Feb. 6; Geovane Meikle and Camden Townes, who celebrated their day Feb. 8; Liam Decker, February 9, and to Tomori Buchanan-Jimo, who celebrates today, Feb. 10.

The saying goes, “Don’t wake a sleeping giant,” but someone woke the one in our house on Sunday night. All was pretty much well at halftime, but the commercials, press and talk radio and TV had worn on everyone’s nerves by the time kickoff came. Our walls were rattling. Ralph talked to Steve, our neighbor, and asked if he could hear him shouting at his house. He replied that he couldn’t, because Pat was yelling too loud. It was a great game, though the outcome was not what most of us wanted. Now we wait till next season and we will pay close attention to the Red Sox.
