Please Adopt Us
Two stray animals from Vineyard Haven were brought to the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard this week. The first is a young female cat, probably not much more than a kitten. She has unusual coloring — orange and brownish stripes. The animal control officer, Laurie Clements, brought her in on Feb 9. The other stray animal is a lop-eared, light gray and brown bunny, also from Vineyard Haven. Please call the shelter if either of these animals belongs to you.
The shelter cats available for adoption are: Chloe and Butter, two tortoiseshell brindle and black cats; Annabelle, Ceilia and Lily, our sleek black cats who need homes; Napoleon, a beautiful, long-haired Maine coon cat; Kitty Randolph, a perfect gray-striped tiger who loves people and enjoys being rocked by our wonderful volunteers; Eric, our senior citizen, an orange tiger who would dearly love to be in a permanent home (there is no adoption fee for Eric); Deacon, our other orange tiger and a real love; Tigger, a three-year-old gray and white sweetheart who loves people and gets along well with the other cats.
Shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday through Tuesday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
Contributions are always gratefully accepted. The Susie Fund was established to pay the medical expenses of animals at the shelter who need medical care. Please make checks out to The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard; the mailing address is P.O. Box 1829, Edgartown, MA 02539.
