Editors, Vineyard Gazette:
In response to Peter Robb’s letter, Losing Faith:
I was enjoying your letter of July 13 until I realized they must have left out the paragraph where you offered any proof for your negative assertions regarding the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
As I walked my cat the night of July 13, I was thinking of Dr. Keith Ablow, now dubbed the Fox News Doc, and how much of a partisan hack he is. Moonlit and serene . . . just like August 26, 1920, just like July 6, 1964. Indeed it was a night for quiet reflection.
I was unaware that the Supreme Court justices “pursued a political agenda.” I thought I caught a hint of it in Bush versus Gore and Citizens United versus Federal Election Commission, but it took the vote on the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act to really bring it home to me.
The people who do not have their votes stolen will certainly have their say on Nov. 6. Mr. Romney is someone to believe in, and if you don’t believe in him today, just wait, he could very well be on the other side of the issue tomorrow.
You posit that the repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will arrive with 51 votes in the Senate, just when the Republicans had me believing everything required 60 votes.
I am reminded of the words of Lewis Carroll’s Alice, “Of all the silly nonsense, this is the stupidest tea party I’ve ever been to in my life.”
