Editors, Vineyard Gazette:

The weather was perfect, the view was spectacular and the food was amazing as we welcomed a sell-out crowd to our seventh annual Meals in the Meadow last month at the Farm Institute.

I want to thank our incredibly dedicated and talented staff for all of their hard work and a job very well done, our generous board of directors for their leadership, our executive director, Jon Previant, for his ongoing encouragement and Sam Feldman for continuing to believe in our mission and for helping us raise much needed funding for much-needed programs here at the farm. You all continue to amaze me with your perseverance, dedication and teamwork. I am grateful to be working with all of you.

I also wish to thank our generous patrons and sponsors of Meals in the Meadow. Seeing you all in the tent enjoying a meal together under that pink glow of the Katama sunset is something I will remember. The colors, the food, the atmosphere — all of it — reminds me why I work at the farm. Something magical happens out here and it’s because of all of you that we are able to sustain it.

A great big thanks to all the Island restaurants, stores and business owners for their generous auction donations. Your support means a great deal to us.

And last but certainly not least thanks to Big Sky Tents, Buckley’s Catering, Barb Smith, Kathryn Thompson, Emma Hall Billsback, Katie Mayhew, Meredith, Julie, Sidney, Rebecca, Sara, Kinley and all of the many great volunteers who helped make this event so special.

Your generosity insures that our programs will continue.
