Editors, Vineyard Gazette:

During the last election, seven out of ten people in the state of Massachusetts voted to decriminalize marijuana and legalize it for medicinal use.

A recent catscan revealed a tumor on my adrenal gland for which I am now being treated at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. My oldest son has also recently undergone his second surgery for cancer and is presently recuperating.

Keith Bassett’s intent in growing marijuana is solely to provide us with an oil extracted from the plant to treat family members for illnesses that can be helped by this oil. The oil does not make you “high.” His actions were purely out of love for his mother and brother and he has been designated as our caregiver by the state. We are legally eligible and are going through the process according to the laws set forth on January 1, 2013 concerning the growing and use of medical marijuana. See: youtube “Run From the Cure.”
