Appointment season continued in Tisbury last Tuesday as the board of selectmen continued to fill positions on town committees.
The board appointed Polly Brown to the harbor management committee; Mrs. Brown will take the vacant seat of Melinda Loberg, who is now a selectman. They also appointed Nora Nevin to the Land Bank advisory committee, and Martha Yukevich as the at-large member of the town housing trust.
Selectmen approved the appointment of special police officer Michael O’Rourke as a full-time officer in the police department, acting on the recommendation of police chief Daniel Hanavan.
In other business, the board approved writing a letter of support for the Island Housing Trust’s proposed Water Street apartment project, which will go before the Martha’s Vineyard Commission on Thursday. They also voted to write a letter of support to the Tisbury planning board encouraging the implementation of a town-wide visioning, or goal-setting, process,
