Walter Cronkite left a legacy that travels beyond the shores of the Vineyard, and it continues with the fifth annual Walter Cronkite Awards Ceremony and Reception on Tuesday, August 5, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Hosted at his former Edgartown home by Karen and David Brush, the event benefits the Martha’s Vineyard Youth Leadership Initiative, a project of the Stone Soup Leadership Institute of which Mr. Cronkite was chair for many years. Bob Schieffer from CBS News and Christopher Callahan from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University will be there to celebrate the work of the youth leadership program.
Suggested donation is $150 and seating is limited. All proceeds support Island youth.
