Reverend Lillian Daniel will close out the summer series at Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs.
Rev. Daniel is pastor of the First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and this will be her first time leading the service at the chapel. She is the author of several books, including Tell It Like It Is: Reclaiming the Practice of Testimony, This Odd and Wondrous Calling: The Public and Private Lives of Two Ministers, co-authored by Martin B. Copenhaver, and most recently, When Spiritual But Not Religious Is Not Enough: Seeing God in Surprising Places, Even the Church.
Rev. Daniel is also an editor at large for the Christian Century Magazine and a contributing editor at Leadership Journal. She serves on the Board of Trustees of Chicago Theological Seminary and the Board of Advisors at Yale Divinity School.
Services begin at 10 a.m. Sunday with an organ prelude at 9:40 a.m. The chapel is located at the end of Circuit avenue in Oak Bluffs, at the intersection of Narragansett and Kennebec avenues.
