The reference point of viewing development from Google Earth is both relevant and irrelevant, relevant in that the Island only has a limited amount of resources, but irrelevant in that people view the Island from street level, which is where aesthetically and commercially the Island will succeed or fail. We will pass either McMansions and strip malls or stone walls with ancient trees and charming town centers. Perhaps cluster zoning, with VTA access, placing an emphasis on maintaining the historic street fronts might be a viable option.
