Tis the season to show the 1946 classic holiday film It’s a Wonderful Life. This family-friendly film debuts at the film center on Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in tribute to the late Jonathan Revere of West Tisbury. The wreath-covered doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with free festive refreshments and live holiday piano music.

The film society also offers its first annual Winter Holiday Festival on Saturday, Dec. 20, with special guest Santa Claus. Decorate the film center’s Christmas tree from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby with live holiday music and free refreshments as the kids line up to take pictures with Santa and receive an early Christmas present. Following the festival, the holiday classic Home Alone will be shown at 1 p.m.

The Nutcracker, brought to life by the Vienna State Ballet, comes to the screen on Sunday, Dec. 21, at noon with a special price for young people.

When the Christmas festivities are over, it means time to ring in the New Year with the film center’s annual party. Film, food, libations, music and good cheer fill the film center while the crowd watches coverage of Times Square at midnight.

Artist Cindy Kane shares her work in the Feldman Family Artspace throughout December.
