Help protect 14 Pine street in Vineyard Haven from development. The original Luce house and the acres of one hundred-year-old trees that grace that property have a real chance at being saved from the new road and subdivision planned there.

Those of you who care about preserving open space — a bit of natural world where wild ones can still find a home, where we ourselves can be refreshed and gladdened, where housing developments need not prevail — we, the people, can make a difference, I hope, by preserving and protecting this land if we work together.

Support this effort by attending the selectmen’s meeting Tuesday, March 24, at 5:30 p.m. held upstairs over town hall.

Go to the planning board meeting April 1, held at 6 p.m. at the Highpoint Lane town hall annex (near the dump).

Write the selectmen to ask that the town obtain this property as open space, not to develop.

Tisbury town meeting is April 14. Vote to protect and preserve this land April 28. Care. Care enough to make a difference, please.
