The inaugural Vineyard Charity Classic Golf Tournament took place on Monday, Sept. 28 at the Vineyard Golf Club. The event exceeded our expectations from sponsorship support to player registration to weather! This first-time collaboration between the Martha’s Vineyard Rotary and Martha’s Vineyard Community Services raised more than $54,000. Proceeds from the tournament will support Community Services and a number of Island charities supported by the Rotary Club of Martha’s Vineyard. This event would not have been possible without the support and generosity of the Vineyard Golf Club. Players experienced this exceptional course coupled with a world-class staff who ensured that a completely full field of players (29 foursomes) enjoyed the day with limited delays and ended the day with a gourmet lunch.

Special thanks to all of the sponsors and donors to the event, especially Edgartown National Bank, our presenting sponsor, Cronig’s Market, Cape Cod Mayflower transit, Falmouth Toyota, Murdick’s Fudge and Clarence A. Barnes Movers.

In addition to our major sponsors we had more than 20 sponsors and business donors; please see our website for a complete list (mvcommunityservices.com/vcgc).

We look forward to planning for next year and expanding the reach of this fundraising event to even more Island charities.
