Holly Bellebuono’s Women Healers of the World: The Traditions, History, and Geography of Herbal Medicine (Skyhorse 2014) has been awarded the 16th Annual Thomas DeBaggio Book of the Year Award by The International Herb Association. Using high-quality photography, original watercolor artwork by Vineyard artist Tracy Thorpe and personal interviews that Ms. Bellebuono conducted over seven years of travel and research, the hardcover book profiles 31 women from 20 countries and 16 healing traditions.

The book award was established by the IHA Foundation in 1999 to foster excellence in herbal literature and acknowledge outstanding books in the field.

This is Ms. Bellebuono’s third book; The Essential Herbal for Natural Health and The Authentic Herbal Healer were published in 2012. Her fourth book, The Healing Kitchen, will be released in 2016. Ms. Bellebuono is director of Vineyard Herbs Teas & Apothecary and The Bellebuono School of Herbal Medicine, providing training and certification nationally.
