The March installment of Tweed’s Reads reading group at West Tisbury library will take up the topic “the prison of group think.”
The discussion group meets Wednesday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at the library.
Three books will be discussed: Eric Hoffer’s The True Believer, Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements; The Culture of Fear: Why Americans are Afraid of the Wrong Things by Barry Glassner; and The Confidence Game: Why We Fall for It...Every Time by Maria Konnikova.
The guided discussion group will address the current political area and the rise of “Trumpism,” according to Mr. Roosevelt.
“Our discussion will address the contention that Trump’s entire career has a great many elements of that of a confidence man pulling off the ‘Big Con’...and that Trump is now in the process of playing the biggest con ever attempted,” Mr. Roosevelt said in a press release.
The discussion is free and open to the public, and books can be reserved at the West Tisbury Public Library.
