Regarding the story headlined “Reproductive Health to Parenting, Family Planning is Family Asset” (Gazette, March, 22): At a time when access to reproductive health and family planning services is constantly under attack, it is very refreshing to read about an organization dedicated to ensuring that access to these services remains a reality. Reproductive health and family planning clinics across the country are being forced to downsize and close in the wake of increasing need, especially in areas that are already medically under served. The assault on Planned Parenthood is a key example. This article is testament to the wide range of resources that family planning clinics provide to communities and the important role that they play in the lives of people of all ages and in all walks of life — a much needed reminder in our current political climate.
