Hospitality Homes has been providing shelter during the winter months for those who, for one reason or another, needed a warm place to stay. For those of us who have been volunteering for this program, it has been a life-changing experience. We provided an evening meal, a place to sleep, and breakfast each day during January, February and March.

We came to know so many new people, each with a different situation, and realized what a huge need there was for this type of program.

We will soon meet again to plan for next winter, but in the meantime, all Islanders may learn about the program, its volunteers, and their guests when Neighborhood Convention meets on Tuesday, May 3, beginning at 11 a.m., at First Congregational Church of West Tisbury, when the Rev. Chip Seadale, who originated the idea, will be the featured speaker.

Caring for the unsheltered will be followed by discussion. All are welcome.
