I would like to express special thanks to Amy Billings and the Oak Bluffs parks department for their attention to our town beaches.

In addition to all the work they already do to care for the wonderful open spaces in Oak Bluffs, they are working on the purchase of the beach rake which was voted for at town meeting. Now, along with the assistance of Richie Combra at the highway department, plans are moving forward to get a rake on our beaches and make improvements this season. Working with the conservation commission to permit the raking and to develop a full beach management plan, the parks department will be taking on a task with clear benefits for Oak Bluffs residents and visitors alike, who will be able to enjoy safe and comfortable beaches right here in town.
