Two Vineyard residents have completed training in Fort Polk at the Army’s Joint Readiness Training Center.

Massachusetts Army National Guard Specialist Nicole Clouser from Edgartown completed training as part of the 1182nd Forward Support Company.

Massachusetts Army National Guard Private Brooke Douglas, from Vineyard Haven, completed training as part of the Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 182nd Infantry.

Both redeployed back home in early August.

More than 5,000 participants from more than 30 states spent most of July at Fort Polk as part of the training rotation. The experience included deployment and staging at Fort Polk followed by more than 10 days of offensive and defensive missions against a real opposing force.
