As we are now just weeks away from the Nov. 8 general election, the League of Women Voters would like to talk about resources available for the voter this year that will both encourage participation and make informed choices in the 2016 election.

MOVE 2016 includes the following:

411VOTE411.org (Online Voters’ Guide) is a customizable digital resource allows Massachusetts voters to access personalized ballot information for statewide races, U.S. Congressional races, state legislative races, and ballot questions, simply by entering a street address.

Voters will also be able to access in-depth information about candidates and ballot measures, an online voter registration tool, local and state voting requirements and rules, and a polling place finder.

Early voting: Thanks to a historic law passed by the state legislature in 2014, early voting will be available in Massachusetts for November elections in presidential election years, beginning with the Nov. 8s election. In these elections, early voting will begin 11 days before the election, starting on the Monday two weeks before the election and ending on the Friday before the election.

Beginning Monday, Oct. 24 through Friday, Nov. 4, during the work week from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., registered voters can cast an early ballot here on the Vineyard. Check with your town clerk for the exact early voting location and hours.

The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 8 election in Massachusetts is Wednesday, Oct. 19.
