I’ve long thought that a thorough if belated investigation should be launched by the Gazette into the tragic finaglings by the real estate moguls and industry on this Island to foil the establishment here of a National Seashore comparable to the gracious saving grace on Cape Cod that has been instrumental there in keeping nature intact. Here the effort was thwarted, blunted, muzzled and Creation coined into money.

It’s a sad story but better late than never, should be told.
