The Martha's Vineyard Sharks and Vineyard Baseball present Super Ball on Saturday, Jan. 28.

What does that mean? It means during the weekend off from football — after the playoffs and before the Super Bowl — there will be an evening to benefit baseball at the Portuguese American Club in Oak Bluffs. Count on some comedy by Carolyn Plummer and Tony V., live and silent auctions and music by Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish. Also count on some wishful thinking about spring training.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 at ticketsmv.com or $30 at the door, with proceeds going towards field improvements.

Play ball!
