Former Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School quarterback Mike McCarthy has signed a professional football contract with the New Hampshire Brigade, an Arena League football team.

This is McCarthy’s second professional contract. After setting high school and college records, he went on to play professionally in Europe, with the Seahawks of Geneva. There he led the league in scoring, passing, and rushing, according to a press release.

He was scouted to play for the Arena League based on that performance. Arena football is played indoors and has different field dimensions, and the pro-football league will include teams in New England, New York and Canada.

The New Hampshire Brigade is based out of Manchester, N.H. The season begins March 31 and runs through June. More information is available at nhbrigade.com.
